The magic of the holiday season brings The Coeur d’Alene Resort, in Northern Idaho, to life. Every inch of Coeur d’Alene’s downtown, the inside of the hotel, to the waterfront, is covered in a glowing spectacle of lights. The resort offers cruise boats that will whisk you to the North Pole to visit Santa. And Santa’s Elves will even deliver cookies and milk to your hotel room. The Coeur d’Alene Resort definitely gets you into the holiday spirit!
The inside of the hotel is full of spectacular Christmas trees, sparkling garland and even a Santa to have your photo taken with. I was stunned by the detail put into the decorations and could not wait for night to fall so I could see the light display.
Once night came, the resort was transformed. Our room had a wonderful view of the lake, and the main light display. We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace and watching the interactive lights, and the dragon breathing fire.
Our favourite part was enjoying a few Christmas themed cocktails at the Whispers bar. I had a delicious “Poinsettia” cocktail while Adam stuck to his trusty Old Fashioned. The view was unmatched. There were also Igloos that you could rent, that came with a small fire, and cozy seating along the lake. (You can see them in the left of the photo below).
The walk along the glimmering main downtown street was amazing. Every tree was strung expertly with warm Christmas lights and each store front was uniquely decorated.
The night was completed by wandering the outside of the resort and the expansive dock system to see all of the lights up close.
I cannot wait to go back!
